Terms of Use

Pista is a volunteer mutual-aid platform between individuals to publish alerts for lost, found or sighted pets, report a sighting, offer or request pet care between neighbours, and exchange messages through the internal messaging — never exposing your phone number or email.

These Terms of Use govern access to and use of the service. By creating an account or publishing content, you accept them unreservedly.

“Alert”: a lost/found/sighted listing with photo(s), description and approximate area.

“Sighting”: a geo-located observation attached to an alert.

“Care request / profile”: mutual-aid listings for pet care.

“Content”: any text, photo or data published by a user.

Browsing alerts is free and requires no account. Publishing (alert, sighting, care, message, report) requires an account (email + password or Google).

You guarantee the accuracy of the information provided and are responsible for the confidentiality of your credentials.

Minimum age: 15 years; between 15 and 17, parental authorisation required.

An alert is published immediately, for 30 days, renewable. It expires automatically; you can mark it as “reunited” or close it at any time.

Sightings are immutable once published (integrity of community evidence).

Messaging is limited to two participants, text only.

Your phone number and email are never displayed nor shared with other users; contact goes exclusively through the internal messaging.

Publishing, visibility, search, messaging and reporting are free and will remain so. No artificial delay is applied before publication.

If paid options are introduced (extra distribution for an alert — a “boost”, a care subscription), they will be clearly labelled, optional and have no effect on the free service. Any change will be announced at least 60 days in advance to existing members.

What Pista will never sell: paid priority publication; access to individuals' contact details; “unlocking” a hidden listing; unlabelled promotion; personal data to third parties.

The site is funded by advertising (Google AdSense) on information pages and by clearly identified affiliate links.

Prohibited: unlawful, defamatory, hateful, violent or counterfeit content; fake alerts; photos of animals you do not own or that are misleading.

Any attempt at scam, ransom demand or extortion (e.g. “pay to get your pet back”) results in an immediate ban and, where applicable, a report to the authorities.

Publishing personal contact details in descriptions or messages is prohibited (the service is designed precisely to protect them), as is any unauthorised commercial use, scraping or automated collection of other users' data.

Any user can report content (one report per content per user).

After 3 reports from distinct users, the content is automatically hidden pending human review.

The team may then restore, permanently hide or delete the content, and suspend or ban the offending account. To contest a decision: contact@pistapet.com.

Pet care is strictly volunteer-based: no payment transits through Pista and no commission is charged.

Pista is not a party to the care agreement: schedule, conditions, insurance and liability are agreed directly between users.

Sitter profiles are not verified. Use your judgement; Pista recommends meeting beforehand.

Any paid service remains the sole responsibility of the users (including social and tax obligations).

Pista is a technical matchmaking platform (host within the meaning of the French LCEN law). We do not guarantee that a pet will be found, nor the accuracy of published content, nor the conduct of users.

The service is provided “as is”, without any guarantee of continuous availability.

Pista cannot be held liable for indirect damages (loss of opportunity, harm caused by a fake alert, care dispute between users…), within the limits permitted by law.

Nothing herein limits the mandatory rights of consumers.

You retain ownership of your content. You grant Pista a non-exclusive, free, worldwide licence to display, reproduce and distribute it strictly as needed to run the service, ending when the content is deleted.

The Pista brand, logo and code remain the property of TECHFLARE SASU.

The processing of your data is described in the Privacy Policy (GDPR): private contact details are never exposed, location is displayed approximately, and you can exercise access, rectification and deletion rights via privacy@pistapet.com or your Account page.

You can delete your account at any time (Account → settings, or on request to contact@pistapet.com).

Pista may suspend or ban an account in case of breach of these Terms, in particular fraud, scam or unlawful content — without prejudice to legal action.

Any change will be notified 30 days before it takes effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.

The commitments of section 5 (free core service, no sale of data) cannot be weakened without explicit prior information.

French law. In case of dispute: amicable attempt via contact@pistapet.com, then consumer mediation before the competent mediator designated by the publisher; failing that, the competent courts of Melun, subject to mandatory jurisdiction rules.
