Neighbourly help for pets: walks, vet transport, donations

Neighbourly help beyond pet-sitting — walks, vet transport, gear lending, kibble donations.

Mutual aid stays free and voluntary

No payment goes through Pista: a paw is lent between neighbours, with nothing expected in return. Looking for pet-sitting? Head to the Care page.

Five ways to lend a paw

  • Dog walking

A dog to walk while you are away — lunchtime, weekend, busy day.

  • Vet transport

Driving a pet to the clinic when the owner has no car.

  • Equipment lending

Carriers, crates, cat trees: neighbourly lending when you need it.

  • Kibble donations

Opened bag or surplus: redistribute rather than bin it.

  • Anything else

Any small favour between neighbours who share a love of pets.

  • Need proper boarding?

Several days or weeks? That's the Boarding page — posting takes 2 minutes.

Requests that get answers

  • « Thursday lunchtime walk — young border collie, Melun centre »

Pet, day, precise place: people instantly know if they can help.

  • « Vet transport Friday 2pm — cat in carrier, no car »

The time and the constraint (carrier) avoid back-and-forth.

  • « Borrowing a size-M carrier — moving on the 20th »

Duration and purpose stated: the lender knows they'll get it back.

  • « Giving away 4 kg of sterilised-cat kibble, bag opened this morning »

The product's condition is stated honestly — that's what reassures.

Frequently asked questions

Is a favour ever paid?
No, never. Mutual aid is volunteer-based: no payment goes through Pista and nothing is expected in return.
Are my contact details visible?
No. Conversations go through masked messaging — your details only circulate if you share them yourself.
Who sees my request?
Any visitor can read public requests, but only signed-in members can contact you through messaging.
And for boarding over several days?
Head to the Boarding page: mutual aid covers one-off favours; boarding has its own requests and profiles.
Can I report an abusive request?
Yes — every request has a report button. The team moderates after publication; a request reported several times is hidden.
What if a pet escapes during a favour?
The owner creates a “lost” alert immediately — the area's watch network triggers.
